Who was Sam Lapidus
Sam grew up here at the Levite Jewish Community Center. He spent years here attending preschool and summer camp, playing in the gym and swimming in the pool. He became quite a regular at the JCC and remained so until cancer ended his life too soon in November 2008, just a few days before his fifteenth birthday.
Sam's main passion was working out in the Fitness Center, something he continued to do with great intensity even after he was diagnosed with Ewing's sarcoma in 2003. He participated in almost all the group fitness classes that were offered, sometimes spinning alongside his grandfather.
Sam lived life to the fullest, making the most of every day. He was his happiest here at the LJCC, where his presence will be forever felt.
